RCMP seeking public’s help following attempted robbery

The St Stephen RCMP is asking for the public's help identifying a person of interest in connection with an attempted robbery in St. Stephen, N.B.

On May 24, 2023, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP detachment responded to a report of an attempted robbery on King Street in St. Stephen. A woman had been walking her dog when she was approached by a man with an aluminum baseball bat who demanded money from the woman before fleeing the scene. The woman was uninjured.

Police are now releasing surveillance footage photos of the man in hopes that, despite the quality, someone may recognize him. The man is described as being approximately five feet seven inches (170 centimetres) tall, with a small build and short orange hair. He is believed to be in his early to mid twenties. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a long-sleeve red shirt, jeans, and work boots.
